On December 9th, the Sixth China-Russia Tourism Education Forum was held successfully in Qiongzhou, Hainan Province. Mr. Wang Zhifa, the Deputy Director of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Mr. Lu Zhiyuan, the Assistant Governor of Hainan Province and Director of Hainan Tourism Development Committee and Mr.Pedro Kopf, Russian representative from National University of Irkutsk delivered speeches in the opening ceremony. Mr. Wei Hongtao, Director of Personnel Division in CNTA hosted the forum. This forum was hosted by CNTA and Russia Federal Agency for Tourism and sponsored by Steering Committee for National Tourism Vocational Education, Hainan Tourism Development Committee and Bejing International Studies University.
With a theme of “Tourism Development & Tourism Education Renovation”, this forum aimed to build an interactive platform for administrators, researchers and teaching staffs in tourism institutions of higher education in both China and Russia. Over 90 honored guests from over 50 tourism schools in both China and Russia had a deep discussion on various topics such as talent demand against the tourism cooperation between China and Russia, reform and development of tourism education, building tourism education system, cultivating applied tourism talents. Four members from TCZJ, namely Wang Kunxin, Secretary of Party Committee, Wang Zhonglin, Vice President, Yu Chao, Deputy Dean of Foreign Languages Department and Dr. Zhang Fengzheng, the head of Russian Teaching and Research Office, were invited to attend the forum.
On the sub-forum themed “Reconstruction of Tourism Education & Training System”, Wang Zhonglin made a detailed introduction to the tourism talents training mode and characteristics of school-running of TCZJ. Yu Chao and Dr. Zhang also delivered speeches.
China-Russia Tourism Education Forum was first held in March, 2007 by the tourism administrative departments of China and Russia, aiming to build an interactive platform for administrators, researchers and teaching staffs in tourism institutions of higher education as well as for tourism enterprises and tourism employees. In the forum, the education and training methods for tourism talents can be explored, experience shared and the communication and friendship between Chinese and Russian tourism education circles promoted. Since its establishment, this forum has greatly enhanced the understanding and contact between tourism colleges in two countries.
