From November 28th to 29th, a delegation of four, including Mr. Rong Jiye, the President of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT) and Mr. Liu Weiqun, the Dean of Further Education and Promotion School from NKUHT, visited TCZJ. Mr. Wang Kunxin, the Party Secretary of TCZJ, Mr. Jin Bingxiong, the President of TCZJ and Mr. Xu Yunsong, the Vice President of TCZJ welcomed the guests. Directors of International Education Department, School of Continuing Education, Hotel Management Department and Travel Agency Management Department of TCZJ also joined the reception.
In the meeting participated by two sides, Mr. Wang made an introduction to TCZJ’s accomplishment in the fields such as the Second-stage Project, building TCZJ into a key vocational college in China and international education, and he hoped that two schools would enhance cooperation in short/long term exchange and faculty training. Later, two sides reached agreements on fields like science research, tourism industry service and exchange of faculty and students.
On the afternoon of November 29th, Mr. Rong gave a lecture on “Rebuilt of Vocational Colleges”. Taking NKUHT as an example, he introduced its development in recent years, features of school running, performance and prospects, focusing on its foundation concepts of “Humanity, Professionalism, Entrepreneurship, Internationalization ” and execution strategies and specific measures for “Striving for Excellence”. In this way, he made a deep analysis of how to rebuilt vocational colleges. The audiences all spoke highly of this lecture.
Formerly named as National Kaohsiung Hospitality Management Academy, NKUHT has three schools, namely Hospitality Management, Tourism and Culinary Arts. Since 2010 when TCZJ signed an education cooperation agreement with NKUHT, altogether 39 students from TCZJ have exchanged and 33 teachers have received professional training in NKUHT. Under the coordination of TCZJ, Mr. Lu Zushan and Mr. Wang Jianman, the former Governor and the incumbent Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province visited NKUHT successively. In October, 2010, TCZJ invited a delegation of 44 teachers and students from NKUHT to visit its campus, arousing great attention from the whole society. This event was even reported by Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC. This visit also won recognition from Taiwan and NKUHT sent a letter of thanks to Mr. Lu and TCZJ.
