As the first group of exchange students to Sino-Serbian Tourism College, 10 students from the culinary department of Tourism College of Zhejiang fully prepared a table of high-quality traditional Chinese banquets. At the event site, activities such as paper-cut display, calligraphy experience, food carving and other interactive exchanges also caught the attentions of whole participation of teachers and students from Serbia at the scene.
Prof. ZHOU Dianjun, the first dean, introduced that the Sino-Serbian Tourism College was co-founded by Tourism College of Zhejiang and the Academy of Applied Studies Belgrade. It is the first cooperative school in the field of tourism vocational education in both countries. The aim of cultivating tourism and service talents is to promote the exchange and integration of education and tourism culture between China and Serbia. Since its establishment in July of 2019, a total of 22 Serbian students have been recruited in the first batch, and the first 10 Chinese students have been organized to study and exchange in Serbia for one month. He said that in 2020, Serbian students will be organized for a short-term exchange study in Tourism College of Zhejiang. In the future, more in-depth and comprehensive cooperation will be carried out on student exchanges, teacher visits and research projects.
It is reported that the number of Chinese tourists to Serbia has exceeded 110,000 from January to September in 2019, and China has become Serbia's largest home country for travelers. The establishment of Sino-Serbia Tourism College is another powerful measure for Tourism College of Zhejiang to respond to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, to meet the development needs of the tourism market, and to deepen international tourism education cooperation.
